New Delhi based mobile payment provider Suvidha's Beam Simple Money service now allows users to buy tickets to the IPL and movies via a partnership with Bookmyshow.com.
Users can now book over 500 movie tickets on M.In.Bookmyshow.com. Mobile users can also buy tickets for four IPL team matches - Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI-Punjab and Rajasthan Royals using the service.
Mobile users can also purchase the tickets either from Beam's mobile (WAP) site, the application, the company website or landline. They can also avail of Beam Sahayaks, who are facilitators for the payments. Beam claims its payment services have received approvals from RBI and the Department of Telecommunication.
"We have been serving various services ranging from mobile recharges, travel tickets to utility bills payments and now with this new venture BEAM enters into the entertainment segment," said Anand Shrivastav, CMD, Beam, in a media statement.
Other payment service providers in India include Itz Cash Card, Paymate, Obopay, NGPay. Most of these today offer mobile phone top up services like Beam as well as utility payment services.
