Mumbai- based CouponDunia Media Pvt Ltd, which runs online coupon service CouponDunia.in, has expanded internationally. The company has opened sites (in local languages) in Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey and Poland. As of now, the firm is handling operations in these markets remotely through its office in Mumbai.
"We prefer countries with large population, growing e-commerce industry, and without much existing history of online coupons. Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country with 250 million people, and also has a fast-growing economy with a shift towards online shopping. As for other markets, Brazil is the world's fifth most populous country while Poland and Turkey are smaller countries with higher growth prospects," said co-founder CEO Sameer Parwani.
According to the company, it currently lists coupons for around 400 merchants in Turkey alone, while in Brazil, Indonesia and Poland, this number is around 200 each. As of now, the company will focus on the new markets and will also continue to expand its Indian business. According to Parwani, its Indian site is getting over a million visitors on a monthly basis.

Founded in 2011, CouponDunia connects online shoppers (who are looking for deals) with merchants. When a user makes a purchase through its site, the merchant pays it a commission. The company claims to have partnered with over 1,240 Indian stores for the service, including names like Flipkart, Snapdeal, eBay, Myntra, YepMe, HomeShop18, redBus.in, among others.
