Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJI), the telecommunications arm of Reliance Industries Ltd, has appointed Sunil Dutt, former managing director of Blackberry India, as its president, according to a PTI report.
Dutt comes with more than 30 years of experience in the technology industry. An alumnus of Punjab University, he is currently working as an independent consultant and business facilitator. Previously, he led the India business for Blackberry for more than a year. Prior to that, he was president (personal systems group) at HP India. He had also held various top positions at Samsung India, Nokia, Barista Coffee Company and Whirlpool India in the past.
Reliance Jio is a telecom operator, which has applied to the department of telecom (DoT) for a unified licence to offer voice-based services on the broadband wireless access spectrum, besides 4G.
