Walden Riverwood Ventures (WRV), a San Francisco-based early-stage venture capital firm, is close to sealing its debut deal in India as it charts a focused investment plan for the country.
WRV, floated by Walden International founder Lip-Bu Tan along with Michael Marks and Nicholas Braithwaite in 2013, will primarily invest in semiconductor and hardware startups. The affiliate fund of Walden International, one of the oldest VC firms to set up an India office, is also close to making its first investment – around $6 million - in an Indian company.

"We are about to make our first investment in an Indian startup and that should happen in the next month or so," co-founder Braithwaite told VCCircle.
