India-based technology firm Cyient will use UK-based Clear Horizon’s asset data management platform CHIME to improve its solutions’ decision making and workforce handling abilities.
Cyient says the collaboration with Clear Horizon will help it combine its experience in systems integration in the utility sector with Clear Horizon's mobile product, according to a statement from Hyderabad-based Cyient.
Clear Horizon’s CHIME works across infrastructure-intensive businesses such as electricity, water, gas, oil and gas, railways, aerospace, and property sectors. Customers in these segments need regular access to asset data to quickly make decisions and improve their performance.

The company claims its mobile platform remains connected to the asset all the time, captures data from any combination of assets and offers electronic operations from a single user interface.
“Given the strict regulatory environment of the utility industry and the heavy dependence on field crews to quickly collect good quality data, our combined offering is designed to alleviate key industry challenges, streamline operations, and deliver a positive impact on the bottom line," said Baptiste Jouffroy, vice president for EMEA region of energy and utilities, Cyient.
Cyient provides technology solutions to global engineering companies and has operations in 20 countries. The company focuses on sectors such as aerospace and defence, healthcare, telecommunications, rail transportation, semiconductor, geospatial, industrial, and energy.

Last week, Cyient declared its financial results for the September quarter. It had a 23% on year decline in its net profit to Rs 98 crore and its revenue fell 2.4% to Rs 1,159 crore.
During the quarter, the company’s solutions business received order in the intelligent data management system, additive manufacturing and Internet of Things (IoT) segments, Krishna Bodanapu, managing director and chief executive officer of Cyient had said in a separate statement.
