Delhi-based Hero Electric Vehicles, part of the Naveen Munjal led Hero Eco Group, recently launched a new high-speed electric motorcycle and a trike.
In its efforts to tap into the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market, the homegrown automaker has also established three dealerships in Bengaluru. It aims to scale that number upto 1,000 touchpoints by the end of this year.

In a recent interview with TechCircle, Sohinder Gill, CEO of Hero Electric spoke about the company’s new electric scooters and its strategy for the growing e-mobility market.
“Word of mouth” will be vital to EV adoption in India, given that users would not want to be the first ones to buy an electric vehicle, Gill said.
Gill has worked in the two-wheeler segment for over four decades now. A 12-year Hero Electric veteran, Gill has previously worked with other companies such as Hero Honda, Kinetic Honda, Escorts Motorcycles and Larsen and Toubro.
