In the latest episode of TechThisWeek, TechCircle spoke to Avimukt Dar, partner at IndusLaw, and Kazim Rizvi, founder of policy think-tank The Dialogue, on the implications of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021 which came into effect on May 26.
The big headlines in startup dealmaking from this week included the Tata Group’s investment in online grocery retailer BigBasket and details on India’s latest unicorn, Zeta, backed by SoftBank Vision Fund 2.

This week also saw the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology criticize Twitter’s statement alleging intimidation, in the light of a notice served to the company by a special cell of the Delhi Police.
Other top news included crypto platform Polygon raising funds from billionaire Mark Cuban and the new Windows platform being around the corner, as hinted by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
